For as long as I can remember I have nurtured a love of trees and held a fascination with nature’s pallette and its seasonal change.

I feel that woodturning is a way of extending the life of trees which often, sadly, must be felled due to disease or age.  The timber used for my natural edged work is sourced only from trees felled out of necessity, not choice.

I enjoy all aspects of turning and specialise in natural edged turning which shows off the bark of the tree, resembling a more natural effect and forming a connection with how the tree looked whilst alive and growing.

My 30 year interest in woodturning began as a hobby.  I am entirely self-taught, initially using off-cuts of timber from my profession in the building trade.

After many years of practice it has become my passion and happily takes up the majority of my time.

Pieces can often take days to complete, depending on complexity and the choice of timber.  Each piece is unique, many are one-offs, and reproductions are never exact due the nature of timber grain and availability.

Please browse through the gallery which shows a small but varied selection of my work, and feel free to contact me if you would like to purchase a piece or to discuss further work.  I am happy to commission pieces to your requirements in my Lincoln-based studio.
